What is YourTime?

YourTime is an iOS app for in-person meetups that actually happen. When two people schedule a meetup, each places a small refundable deposit. If both show up on time, both deposits are released in full — meetups that happen are always free. If one person doesn't show, their deposit becomes a no-show fee, and most of it is paid to the person who showed up.

Is my card charged when I schedule a meetup?

No. Nothing is charged up front. The deposit is a temporary authorization hold on your card, placed shortly before the meetup. Show up on time and the hold is released in full — no fees, ever, for meetups that happen. Money only moves if someone no-shows, cancels late, or arrives very late.

How does the no-show fee work?

If the other person doesn't show up, their deposit is charged as a no-show fee and most of it is paid out to you — YourTime keeps a small service cut. It works the same in reverse, which is exactly why both people show up.

How does YourTime know we both showed up?

With your permission, the app measures your distance to the agreed meetup spot during a window around the start time. Be at the spot together — about 30 seconds side by side — and the meetup confirms automatically. If GPS is unreliable, there's a one-tap backup where the other person confirms you're there.

What if I'm running late?

You can arrive and meet up to 30 minutes early — that's always fine. Arriving within 15 minutes of the start counts as on time. Between 15 and 30 minutes late, a partial fee applies. More than 30 minutes late counts as a no-show.

What if the other person never shows up?

Their no-show counts against them no matter when you leave — if they never show, you can leave without being charged, and their no-show fee is paid out to you. Leaving early only costs you if the other person actually shows up during the window.

Can I cancel a meetup?

Yes. Cancel at least 48 hours ahead and it's completely free. Closer to the meetup, a sliding cancellation fee applies — the closer to the start, the larger the share of your deposit.

What does the other person see about my location?

Only your status at the meetup spot — arrived, or left — never where you are. YourTime itself stores only your distance to the agreed spot during the meetup window, never your coordinates or route, and presence data is deleted after the dispute window closes. Details in our Privacy Policy.

What kinds of meetups is YourTime for?

Anywhere flaking costs someone real time: marketplace pickups (Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, OfferUp), workout partners, language exchanges, study sessions, club meetups, first meetings of any kind. If showing up matters, a small mutual deposit keeps both sides serious.

How much is the deposit?

You choose the amount when you create the meetup, starting at $10. Caps rise if you verify your identity, and YourTime Plus subscribers can set larger deposits — up to $750 with Plus and identity verification.

Is YourTime free to use?

Yes. Creating meetups is free, and meetups where both people show up on time cost nothing — both deposits come back in full. YourTime keeps a small cut of no-show and late-cancellation fees, and an optional Plus subscription adds higher deposit limits and a larger share of fee payouts.

Where can I get YourTime?

YourTime is in a limited TestFlight beta in Western Massachusetts, launching soon on the iOS App Store, with Android on the way.
